Pursuant to Senate Bill 943 and House Bill 1554, passed by the 2023 Session of the General Assembly, the Code of Virginia has been amended by adding section ยง22.1.217.3, relating to special education transition in public high schools. This amendment requires each public high school in the Commonwealth to publicly identify on its official website the faculty member responsible for special education transition planning and coordination at such high school. This amendment does not direct school divisions on how to make these assignments or specifications about planning and coordination.
