Gretna High School is dedicated to preparing the students of today to become the leaders of tomorrow. Gretna's challenging and diverse academic programs will better position students to reach their future goals, whether that be attending an accredited university or becoming a productive member of the work force. Students at GHS can also participate in a wide variety of extracurricular and co-curricular activities. The Gretna High School experience lasts a lifetime and has a large impact on a student's overall development. The wonderful opportunities and experiences of GHS put Gretna in a class of its own.

Mission Statement:

In order to insure that our school’s mission adequately embodies our purpose as defined by teachers, students, parents, and community stakeholders,  our mission statement is biennially reviewed and revised as necessary.Our current mission statement is as follows:

that promotes learning and personal achievement.

	Gretna High School ranks 21st in the nation for W!se Financial Literacy Certifications. The predominant factor was the average score on the Financial Literacy Certification Test with consideration given to eligibility for free lunch and the proportion of test takers to the school population.
	Gretna High School ranks #119 out of all the nation’s high schools, as determined by the number of college-level tests taken compared to the number of graduating seniors.
